Manchester Veterinary Specialists - The opening of a brand new referral centre

One thing that I absolutely adore about my job is the different directions that it leads me; this was by far one of the most fascinating experiences I've ever photographed! Earlier this year, a brand spanking new veterinary Specialist surgery opened in Manchester, led by orthopaedic surgeons Ben Keeley and Steve Bright. Manchester Veterinary Specialists is a referral centre that deal with injuries or diseases affecting the limbs, bones, and joints in cats and dogs.

I'd photographed many parts of the process leading up to the opening of this incredible Specialist service. Whilst the the centre was being built and fitted, I was asked to take head-shots of all the lovely staff and photographs of them performing examinations on animals for their new website and marketing material. I was so excited when the time came to visit MVS itself!

Walking through the bright and airy reception, the girls were friendly and smiley as always! I was shown around all the facilities including two operating theatres, recovery ward and digital radiology suite before being invited to photograph the first two surgeries that MVS conducted - fully kitted up with a scrub suit; wearing a hairnet, face-mask and Crocs I might add!

Being a dog owner myself (the gorgeous little Bodger!) it was unbelievable to see from behind-the-scenes, the sort of lengths that these veterinary Specialists were taking to ensure each pet was safe, healthy, well-looked after and cared for. The attention to detail that MVS take is absolutely astounding!
